In May 2006 Stephen Stanners, the website owner and webmaster, was asked by his school to do a project about Seaton Delaval. The project had to include facts, history, photographs and any other things he could think off. While researching Seaton Delaval on the Internet he was shocked to find the lack of information on the Internet, with only one website (which was still under construction). After completing his project he decided to add all of the information, history and other things he found by using the available resources in the public library onto a free website host.

After a few weeks being online many people were congratulating him on his work and he was getting many hits (about 5 a day) so on Tuesday July 4th 2006 Stephen used his own money and bought www.seatondelaval.org. For the first few weeks the layout was dark red and black, which did not look to good as the colours clashed so a brand new layout was created with a light blue, white and black, which are no longer used today

As time went on Stephen researched more into Seaton Delaval and became the first Seaton Delaval website to have a chat room, news archives, mailing list, a photo gallery, forum and more.

In 2007 / 2008 the website went down for over 2 months due to server problems so Stephen went to a new host and started to host the website again in February.
